This patch of green on Station Road, Swinton was formerly a church graveyard. In fact some of the gravestones have been laid flat to form footpaths across the site. As Salford City Council now owns this site, a request was made to the Friends to “adopt” it. The Friends decided that we should include St Paul’s Methodist Church graveyard as part of the Friends of Salford Cemeteries Trust. Interestingly, one of the gravestones at St Paul’s refers to a Rueben

For some time we have been conscious that there were not enough meetings that were open to the public, so this year we have remedied this. Generally, on the third Tuesday of the month we are holding Open meetings on selected topics such as the Great War Project, Mayors of Salford, Gravestone Symbolism, etc, as well as two meetings on Cemetery Developments and Improvements, the AGM and two Social Evenings.
