Edward aslo served as Private 13914 Edward Yewdale in the East Lancashire Regiment.

He was a member of Adelphi Lad Club and worked Lockett & Crossland of Strangeways Manchester.

Wring to Edward’s mother, Private R.D Crossman said:

‘ Edward was killed instantaneously by machine gun fire’

His brother Private 20145 John Tewdale in the Royal Scots died of wounds on 26th April 1917
