Citation reads:

During the attack on the BEAUREVOIR line, north of St. Quintin on 3rd October 1918, this runner displayed splended courage and inititive in locating and guiding Tanks into position. Owing to mishap the tanks were not on time but after searching continuously in the dark for five hours during which time he was subjected to heavy shell fire and was slightly wounded,he succeeded in locating the Tanks and giuided them into position ready for the attack.
The bravery and resource shown by this man was of the highest standard and of the utmost value, he being personally repondsible for the arrival of the Tanks for the attack.
